The Chandra Welfare Society is a Charitable Society registered in the year 1999. The members of the society constitute the governing body of the school. It has been managing Chandra Public School since 2003. It is setting new standards in the education of children in the 21st century. It is a Senior Secondary School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi from the year 2010. CPS believes that the school has the most important role in shaping human potential. We believe that the destiny of man is shaped in the classroom. Through discipline and hard work students of CPS are guided by highly qualified & experienced teachers from various parts of India like Kerala, Tamilnadu, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh etc. to attain high standards of performance.

This educational institution, as in the case of every other institution, had a small and humble beginning. In spite of its glorious feat as one of the best educational institutions of Purvanchal, particularly in the city of Mau. It never commercializes education but continues to remain as an institution of service, catering to the educational needs of the children.

CPS has tried its best to excel in all spheres of its students growth. The specialty of this institution is that it imparts quality education accessible to all, high and low, rich and poor. During these past 20 years, the institution has created an environment and ambience that fosters learning, as it provides the students with opportunities to explore and grow, through situations that challenge them to identify their strengths and reinforce them.
